My bugs wanted to make a gift for their Daddy and their two Grandpas for Father’s Day. I came across this sweet card from Chasing Fireflies and, being a huge sucker for handprint keepsakes, I decided to create something similar.

Father’s Day is coming…
I wanted to make up some broquets for my husband and brother-in-laws for Father’s Day, so when I came across these Game of Thrones beer steins I knew they would make the PERFECT vessels! My siblings and their families often come to our house for games night, and one of the board games we enjoy playing is ‘A Game of Thrones, the Board Game’. All of us are hooked on the HBO series, and it often comes up in conversation when we’re together. I already had all of the treats handy (I bought a few items in bulk from Costco, and managed to make 11 gift baskets from them!) so it was just a matter of printing off some pictures and arranging everything together in the steins.

When I was rooting around in my closet I came across a few extra white mugs I had recently purchased from the dollar store for the DIY painted mugs my boys and I made as Mother’s Day gifts. I decided to use the leftover mugs as an extra gift from the boys for their daddy, Grandpa, and Papa. For some reason, he refused to let me paint his hand, but he was more than willing to let me take a print of his foot! A footprint may seem odd on a mug, but it still makes for a cute keepsake.

The Red Green Show Father’s Day Broquet
Chances are if you didn’t grow up in Canada in the 90’s you never heard of the home improvement parody/ sketch comedy The Red Green Show. To be honest I probably wouldn’t have heard of it either if it weren’t for my dad. I have to say there were definitely some funny and ridiculous moments on that show, especially the segment titled “Handyman Corner” where Red created crazy contraptions using scraps he’d collected and, of course, duct tape!

I wanted to make something sweet for the wonderful dads/Granddads in our life for Father’s Day, so when I found this recipe for popcorn cake, I knew I had to make it, with a few twists of my own of course. The very idea of buttery popcorn, marshmallows, chocolate, and gummies molded into individual pops is enough to make my head explode (in a good way), and I’m pretty positive the dads we’re gifting these to will share my love for these sweet, salty, gooey treats! I had to make these when the boys were down for their naps, because otherwise M would just keep shovelling the candy into his mouth…. he has an even bigger sweet tooth than me! I made sure to pop some extra popcorn for him as a healthy snack when he woke up.
