Have you ever had one of those days where you desperately want to get out of the house, but everything seems to unravel all at once? If not, do you want to swap lives for a few hours 😉 ? Today has DEFINITELY been one of those days! It started off brimming with cheery, optimistic potential (should we go to the library, the mall, or perhaps the zoo or Science Centre?) but somewhere during an hour time span, there was an unfortunate diaper malfunction, my toddler had managed to rub raspberry jam into his hair and clothes, and my three year old decided he just didn’t want to get dressed. Needless to say, the shininess of the day was rapidly fading and being replaced by a dull and gloomy cloud .

A couple of days ago my bugs made some LOVEly heart paintings. M used a heart shaped cookie cutter to stamp his paint onto black scrapbook paper, while B finger painted over top of a heart cutout I had taped to the centre of his black paper.

Since visiting the Spark Science Centre, I thought it would be a lot of fun for the boys to have their own light table to experiment with at home. It wasn’t until we were reorganizing our basement, and getting rid of some clear plastic tubs, that I was actually inspired to make one. I came up with a simple design and soon after, as I was congratulating myself on my clever ingenuity, I decided to Google ‘DIY Light Table’… my ego was instantly deflated. Evidently I was not the only one to come up with this brilliant plan, as you can see here, and here (just to highlight a couple). Haha! Oh well, it was still a HUGE hit with my little bugs 🙂
