Breakfast at our house this morning was anything but ordinary, thanks to our little surprise guest! This is the first year we have introduced Elf on the Shelf to M and little B, and his arrival was a big hit (well, for M at least). M decided to name him Bob; Not Buddy, or Sparkles, or Elvin, just Bob. So Bob showed up for breakfast bearing gifts of powdered doughnuts and fruit, and lots of hand-cut paper snowflakes!

This week M and I have been working with the letter B and performing activities using buttons. He made a collage out of pictures with the initial /b/ sound, sorted buttons by size and shape, made a tactile letter B for his word-wall out of buttons, and played with a button snake to foster his fine-motor development.
