When M and B checked their leprechaun trap yesterday morning, they were excited to discover they had actually caught something small and green!

But it wasn’t the little green man they were expecting… It was a crocodile!

That tricky leprechaun escaped the trap and put M’s toy crocodile in his place. He also left the boys a taunting note that read “Ha! Ha! You caught a crocodile! Better luck tomorrow! L.”

So, this morning, the day of St. Patrick’s Day, the boys were extra excited to see if the luck of the Irish resided in them. When they bounded into the kitchen they found that the wily leprechaun had struck again! He had strung rainbow streamers from the light fixture and left each of the boys a present, along with the  message, “BETTER LUCK NEXT YEAR”, stamped in play-dough. At least this time the boys weren’t left empty handed.

It may not be a pot of gold but, to my boys, finding candy is pretty much the equivalent of finding a treasure!

For breakfast, I made my little laddies some green pancakes and bacon.

And when they were done eating, the boys had a great time making an even bigger mess than what the leprechaun had left behind!

Irish Blessing:

May flowers always line your path

and sunshine light your day.

May songbirds serenade you

every step along the way.

May a rainbow run beside you

in a sky that’s always blue.

And may happiness fill your heart

each day your whole life through.

HAPPY ST. PATRICK’S DAY!
