Last week the temperature was quite frigid and a thick blanket of snow covered the ground. When M opened the front door he was greeted by a couple of frosty friends…

Being that the window was already wet from frost, I thought it would be fun for M and B to build snowmen puzzles. I cut three different sized circles from white foam, branches for arms using brown foam, and finally a top hat and earmuffs out of pieces of black and red foam. Then I drew a snowman face on the smallest circles using black and orange Sharpies. I also grabbed some tub-letters so M could practice spelling the word ‘snow’.

M quickly set to work dismantling the snowmen puzzles

Here’s M building the word ‘snow’. I don’t know why he put the letters up so high…

B wanted to play too:

Then the boys decided to work together (smile)

It was an easy way to keep my bugs busy for part of this chilly November morning. They also learned a little about size (smallest, bigger, biggest) and I was able to squeeze in a bit of word work as well.
