I love when my bugs get out the felt board to play on a rainy day. It makes for a great quiet-time activity, and it keeps them occupied for a good twenty minutes. I especially like felt board activities because it encourages hand-eye coordination, fine-motor development, problem solving and spatial awareness (by experimenting with how the felt pieces fit together to form a complete picture), and story telling.
Spring Themed Felt Board
The pieces I created allow my boys to assemble flowers and an apple tree, and to create a lovely, sunny Spring scene on their felt board, even if it happens to be a damp and dreary day outside!
