Breakfast at our house this morning was anything but ordinary, thanks to our little surprise guest! This is the first year we have introduced Elf on the Shelf to M and little B, and his arrival was a big hit (well, for M at least). M decided to name him Bob; Not Buddy, or Sparkles, or Elvin, just Bob. So Bob showed up for breakfast bearing gifts of powdered doughnuts and fruit, and lots of hand-cut paper snowflakes!
I used snowflake wrapping paper as a colourful table runner
I found this super cute platter and little plates at Superstore (dishwasher and microwave safe)
M made the Christmas trees a few days before
Bob also wrote a letter to M and B explaining he is here to watch over them to make sure they are listening to their mommy and daddy and being kind to one another (shameless, I know…)
I also made pancakes and bacon (my boys’ favourite) but arranged them into a snowman, with marshmallows and chocolate chips. The inspiration for this festive and delicious breakfast came from Pinterest.
I think M was pretty surprised when he came downstairs, but it was hard to tell with his dinosaur mask on… lol! (This is seriously how he came out of his room for breakfast)
As suspected, both boys were huge fans of the powdered doughnuts!
Overall, it was a successful introduction to Bob the Elf. I’m looking forward to the mischief he’s going to cause in the following weeks!
