My boys love when I surprise them with a sensory bin full of fun things to touch and experiment with! The other day, when I was getting ready to decorate the house for Christmas, I threw some things into our sensory bin that would help keep their little hands and growing minds busy. I tried to include materials that had interesting shapes, textures, colours, and sounds. This is what I came up with:
- ribbons (skinny curling ribbon, thick velvet ribbon, glittery ribbon)
- Bows (big and small)
- wrapping paper
- tissue paper
- pine cones
- a variety of tree ornaments
- bells
- cookie tins
- cookie cutters
- fuzzy pipe cleaners
- a plush singing dog ornament
- cardboard tubes
- santa hat
- reindeer antler headband
The boys had a blast playing with all of the Christmas odds-n’-ends!
By the time they were done, it looked like Christmas had exploded all over the livingroom! Even Bob, our Elf on the Shelf, couldn’t resist diving into the fun!
And that’s how I kept my bugs busy today!
