I pinned this art activity from Pinterest a few months ago, and finally decided to try it with M tonight. All you need are non-toxic washable paints in Fall colours (I just used brown, red and yellow), some paper, and a couple of wine corks.

Before dinner, I did a rough painting of a tree with bare branches and allowed it time to dry while we ate.

After dinner I taped the tree painting to the table, then put two blobs of yellow and red paint onto a piece of parchment paper beside it. I showed M how to use the wine corks as a stamp, and he quickly started filling the tree with Fall leaves.

I encouraged him to mix the 2 colours together to make another Autumn colour (orange).

M had a lot of fun ‘cork stamping’! It wasn’t long until his tree branches were full (as well as the trunk and ground)

Can you spot the real leaf? M added it to his masterpiece for a litte something extra… He picked it from one of our houseplants when I wasn’t looking! Haha!
