When I was at the grocery store I picked up some cute little pumpkins for M to decorate. Rather than just having M paint the pumpkins and add a few Hallowe’en stickers, we mixed it up a bit and came up with these fun little creations:

Melted Crayon Pumpkins:

These were easy and fun to do. All you need are:

  •  a few different colours of wax crayons
  • some mini pumpkins (we used white ones)
  • and a blow-dryer

I had M select 2 colours for the pumpkins then we peeled off the paper, snapped them in half and placed them on top of the pumpkin by the stem.

Now for the fun part! We took a blow-dryer to the crayons, on high heat, and watched them melt.

M couldn’t get enough of the dripping wax, and kept asking to do more, so we did!

They turned out pretty good, don’t you think?

The first thing we did to create this creepy crawler was paint one of our white mini pumpkins black.

Then we added 8 fuzzy pipecleaner legs,

followed by 8 googly eyes…

and our spider was ready. Just in time for Hallowe’en!

Colourful Pom-Poms, Buttons and Pipecleaners

I gave M some pom-poms, buttons and pipecleaners to glue onto his mini pumpkin, and he came up with this lovely explosion of colour:

Here are a couple pics of him putting his masterpiece together:

When M was finished, we also whipped up this cute, goofy guy!

Fun, festive, inventive and easy! What more do you need?!
